The job placement service is one of the job placement tasks under
the labor and social welfare sector to continue implementing the
15th 5-years socio-economic development plan and the 5th 5-years
labor and social welfare development plan. In the period of
2020-2023, there was a situation of the spread of the covid-19
disease and the domestic and international economic financial
crisis, resulting in the suspension and closure of the activities
of all labor unions, affecting the employment of Lao workers

Our Goal
To provide support for
job placement services and helping Lao worker who are unemployed in
the country and those who are unemployed from abroad in the Lao PDR
to have access to jobs under the labor quota and investment projects
in the countries for the development of labor skills in order to
provided workers to meet the needs of labor users, by involving both
the government and private sectors to ensure that the unemployment
rate decreases gradually. The worker have jobs, income and economic
growth to become more normal and stronger, to be the basis for
cooperation in the field of related work in the form of government
and private participation.

After the spread of this disease, the virus related to Covid-19
has had a great impact on the social-economic development and the
livelihood of labor in Lao PDR because many business units,
production and services have to be suspended or the closing down
of business has resulted in workers in the system, outside the
system including freelancers having to face unemployment. At the
same time, Lao people who went to work abroad booth legitimately
and illegally according to the law have flown back to the country
in large members through various channels. This incident has
resulted in the domestic unemployment rate increasing from 9% in
2019 to 20% in 2020, 20% in 2020 and 22% in 2021, it is estimated
that labor force of Laos that will be employed in 2022 will reach
400,000 peoples. almost all of them are from abroad.
